Hi all,
This is possibly a bit long winded.
On Nov 15 2014 I parked in Maritime Museum Falmouth, came back within time to find a ticket stuck to windscreen saying my window ticket had been upside down.
On getting home I went onto a certain money website and was advised by several people to use a company called "appealparkingtickets". For a £16 fee this is what I did.
I now know this to be a stupid error and not the best course of action
I havwe now received a letter from Armtrac stating as I have not responded to their earlier letter,(nothing received until now), they are putting the ticket up to £100 if this is not paid in 14 days they will take legal action.
This letter contains no details of thhe offence just a PCN number and the date. and also says the 28 day poplar is expired.
I have also now lost the original ticket.
I don't really know what to do as it has been so long.
When I can work it I will try and upload a copy of the letter.
Can anyone please help as I cant really afford to go to court.
Thankyou

Armtrac do take legal action, but its still a small minority of cases.
Why can't you afford to go to court? It doesn't cost much and if you win with the hourly rate you can claim you make a profit.
It doesn't matter that you have lost the ticket, civil cases are on balance of probabilities, if you say you had one and the judge believes you, you don't need it.
Your best bet is to just see if they actually do go to court, there is a key case coming before the appeal courts called Beavis, this could well see the PPC's deciding not to go near a court ever again!

Blank out all personal details and try to upload the letter. It would be interesting to see the specific wording of it.

it says the file is too big, how do I shrink it
I cant afford court as I don't earn a lot and they have said I could be looking at £160 plus

Stock begging letter, file, don't lose and you just have to ignore and sit out the chain, look on here or MSE for examples of the letters and play snap as they arrive.
Note, a debt collector is not a Bailiff, and has no more powers than I do to extract money from you.

Here is an idea. Why not check who actually does court....
Here is a list of who's been in the last 3 months. You are looking for the name KBT and you'll be looking for a long time. It might be something to do with them not having a legal basis for their demands- but I'm no expert having only been here for 7 long, long years. [Bugger its 8 - must get a life]

The company details are all over the place on that letter, they do not match Companies House records

Thanks for your replies folks, but i'm still confused.
I don't really know what I should be writing to them.
I haven't got the original ticket I purchased, or the original PCN they issued.
I haven't been back to Falmouth since this and have no idea what signage they have.
Sorry for my confusion

They have already said, the appeal time has passed so they can either take you to court (they don't) or send you letters (they will)
You should note that at the time, they were members of the BPA and were demanding an amount that was breach of contract. These demands are worthless which is why they do not do court. But it won't stop them hassling you.
You could send a "debt is denied" letter which they will ignore and then take all subsequent letters to Trading Standards to complain about their aggressive behaviour.
Or you can ignore.
