Hi,
Can anyone help?
I attend an evening course at an art school at Battersea Business Centre in London.
Last year it was perfect – free parking after 17.30.
Yesterday evening, 07.01.2013 I went to a course (the first class of a new term) and on return found on my car a parking charge notice (£100, £60 if paid early, etc.) from PCM (UK) Ltd.
They’ve obviously taken the car park over from the New Year.
Previous management had displayed their charges - £2 for an hour, £5 for a day from 8 to 17.30. Free after 17.30.
PCM has put some signs about displaying their permits in order to park, without indicating parking charges, but their signs are far in between – it’s a fairly large place. There was no sign in the bay where I parked. (and how they give A PARKING CHARGE NOTICE (not penalty charge notice) if they do not display parking charges?).
Well, had they displayed a sign, something like “new parking rules apply” or “car park under new management”, I would have found some parking outside.
What would be the best course? Probably asking them to cancel charges due to my mistake because of insufficient signage just a week after the change of management – and what a week - first New Year week!
I would be grateful for any ideas.
