Full Version: A Bit of Reassurance Please

Hello there

On 11th August I drove past a Talivan and convinced myself I MIGHT have been a little over the limit which was a 30mph area. However, it's been such a horrible year for me in one way or another, quite frankly I think if I'd WALKED past the flipping van I'd have convinced myself I was speeding.

I'm simply after a little reassurance if possible please. I know about the 14 day guideline, and today IS 'Day 14'. After going through a two week roller coaster of emotions and panic attacks I'm simply wondering if you more knowledgable guys think I may be ok to start relaxing now?

Thank you.

If your are registered keeper and have not changed address recently without informing tthe DVLA then relax.

If anything turns up then post the info on here.

That's kind of you, thank you.

I'm sorry I should have said in my previous posting. I have owned my car from new since 1997, so I am its one and only keeper. I have lived at the same address for 9 years and 2 months.

I hope against hope nothing will turn up. Have had enough horrible things go wrong for me this year, I truly have done my bit!

Whilst the law is 30mph a little leeway is normally allowed, usually 10% +2, so 35 mph.

Plus car speedometers normally under-read though it must not be more than 10% and it must never under read.

My own car when reading 76 MPH is actually doing 70MPH. (not in a 30 limit I need to say).

Paula, you've been great, thank you. smile.gif

So, given all I've said, you feel I may be ok? unsure.gif smile.gif

I so appreciate your help. As I say, having been through redundancies and bereavements I'm simply at the stage of "when will the next horrible thing happen", which of course I know is daft, but I guess one gets like that when life has chucked it's worst at someone.

I am one of life's boring people, same car for 14 years, same address for over 9, so if I'd done anything untoward I would suspect I'd be easy to trace.

Thanks again. smile.gif

The law says 14 days and you are the keeper and not recently changed address so yes it looks good.
