Not really a case in progress but to those looking at parking adjudication might like to hear about this case from another forum I frequent. Thought I'd post the information here as it seems he was given a hard time.  As you can see I got it out of him that all the time he thought he was continuing his "appeals" he was just writing to the council (and being rejected), and we know that they only ever give in at the very beginning or not at all.

What I think happened was they ticketed the car and deliberately took photos to get evidence without any views which would back up the driver.

I suggested applying for costs wouldn't hurt, frankly if it was me I would go for the full travelling, preparation etc.

Last july we were fined for parking with two wheels on the pavement
under a sign that says parking allowed here on pavement.
We had a photo of the car and sign and made an appeal but the appeal
was turned down and the parking people supplied their own photo but on this picture it had been taken at such an angle as to ommit the sign,so far we have had three appeals turned down and the final one is next saturday morning at the haymarket london only problem is every time you appeal the fine goes up I will just have to see how we get on. Ron

No problem with them taking pictures but on the last appeal they came up with at least seven different photos of the car all of them
mis-leading,surely they cannot take as many photos as this for every ticket they issue.I smell a rat somewhere!

The appeals were turned down by the council because there were no white line present although the sign is still there saying that on pavement parking is allowed, all appeals have gone back to the same
council p o box no. so it is obvious that I am goig to get the same result. This final appeal is with the parking and traffic appeals service new zealand house the haymarket london but I am not that confident but what else can I do?I am in the right ,if I was not I would pay the fine but I dont hold out much hope.

After seven months of fighting the London Borough of Bexley over a parking ticket we had a meeting with the adjudicator at the Haymarket in London on Saturday morning and after studying the evidence of both sides he decided that there was no case to answer
and he had no hesitaion in allowing our appeal, following this he said
he would be writing a very strong letter to the Council regarding
the mis-leading photos that they produced,so all in all a good day for the underdog so if you think you have a good case its worth having a go because the adjudicators are very fair.Ronnie.

PATAS fair?????  So he parked under a sign that said he could park and they finally allowed it????
Why did it take so long - because the borough dont care and they know PATAS are in their pay.

PATAS?

from personal experience I think the adjudicator is fair.

had a problem where I was ticketed - but the ticket said I was parked on the other side of the street (in front of house ) coucil rejected the appeal  but adjudicator allowed it.

I had a ticket years ago in City of London....i stopped to ask a PA where i could park legally...went and parked legally.....6 weeks later got a Notice to Owner for a ticket issued in the street where i stopped to speak to the PA!!!
Obviously the bastard issued the ticket after i had driven away....

Anyway, appealed to CofL without any joy, so took it to the adjudicator. Got evidence from Council, which was a copy of the ticket and a copy of the relevant pages from the PA's pocketbook. The notes showed my VRM, Tax Expiry date, but where he should have wrote the Tax Disc Serial Number he wrote "illegible".
I checked the disc and the serial number (printed) was clear as day, and readable from a good 5-6 ft away. I served a copy of the disc as my evidence...

When it got the adjudicator, who was a lady by the name of Caroline Shepherd, i simply said that if the PA was close enough to my vehicle to stick a ticket on it (they never mentioned that it was a drive away), then they must have been able to read the serial number....put the disc 5 ft away from the adjudicator and asked her to read the number, which she did. Then i said that the reason i had never paid the original ticket was because it was never attached to my vehicle, nor did i have any knowledge of having been issued one, and that i the only time i had been in that street was when i spoke to the PA to get directions to legal parking.
The adjudicator said that there was no mention of a conversation in the PA's notebook, and clearly the serial number was not illegible as noted, she had serious doubts about the legality of the ticket and the honesty of the PA, so she cancelled the ticket and complained to the CofL.

I'm sure this has been answered before, but is there any time limits on parking tickets or could one drop through the door at any moment for an offence say a year ago?

Cheers,
matt

I have since found out that there is a 6 month limit for the PCN to reach the registered keeper which can increase depending upon the difficulty the have in finding the details etc,

I also found this helpful parking case finder:
