Full Version: Help: Towing Tax question
FightBack Forums > Queries > Council Tickets & Clamping and Decriminalised Notices
Horrid camden council took my car away while I was waiting for my new tax disk.
They said I can't have it on the road even while I wait. But where else can I put it? I don't have a driveway, garage or live on a private road - this is why I pay for my resident's parking permit.

I want to appeal the decision and someone told me there is a recent case that says that whilst the law is very strict about towing/tickets etc, the council have to use their discretion and act reasonably.

Anyone know what it is? Or have any ideas how I can fight this.

Thank you very much.

AIUI councils can only enforce Tax disc issues by using 'devolved powers'. Chack (with DVLA ?) that they have such authority. Don't think it is automatic.
what do you mean by waiting

youd gone to the post office or youd order it on line and were waiting it ariving,

if its the second it was taxed the moment you paid for it, so your only issue is failing to display
