NIP Wizard Responses
These were the responses used by the Wizard to arrive at its recommendation:
Have you received a NIP? - Yes
Are you the Registered Keeper of the vehicle concerned (is your name and address on the V5/V5C)? - Yes
Did the first NIP arrive within 14 days? - Yes
Although you are the Registered Keeper, were you also the keeper of the vehicle concerned (the person normally responsible for it) at the time of the alleged offence? - Yes
Were you driving? - Yes
Which country did the alleged offence take place in? - England

NIP Wizard Recommendation
Based on these responses the Wizard suggested that this course of action should be considered:
  • The law requires you to provide the information requested in the Section 172 notice within the 28 day period, naming yourself as the driver. If you are considering obtaining formal legal advice, do so before returning the notice.

You should note that there is nothing to be gained by responding any earlier than you have to at any stage of the process. You are likely to receive a Conditional Offer of a Fixed Penalty (COFP) and further reminder(s). If you want to continue the fight, you should ignore all correspondence from the police until you receive a summons. You need to understand from the outset that while you will receive much help and support from members on the forums, you will need to put time and effort into fighting your case and ultimately be prepared to stand up in court to defend yourself.

I recieved this NIP in the post yesterday, pretty standard I think but I have no idea how fast I was travelling and I did not see the Van and do not know the area well at all.

I also recieved a NIP from Berkshire yesterday!! (Never had one in 20 years of driving and two in one day.

For an offence on the 10/10/2008 with a NIP date of the 21/10/08
Exceed speed 40 MPH and was doing 60MPH
Bagshot Road Bracknell

Both from Mobile vans

No the question is do I send them both off at the same time of do I send them off one after the other, as I do not know my speed in Nottinghamshire I'm not sure what will come back.

not sure if there is anything else to do except fill em both in and send them off, sickens me that after 20 years I get two in one day, (Same day I found out I may loose my job, so not too chuffed)

Well I just sent the Nottinghamshire one off, I will wait until I get it back before I send off the Berkshire one. but then I suppose if I was going mega fast in Notts I would wait for Court. Just worried I get caugth out from totting up as I will have gone to clean licence to filthy in 1 week.

I think you have jumped ahead of yourself. Best practice on here is to delay returning until the 26th day and whilst waiting request copies of photo's to help you identify the driver. No Not mention the words evidence or proof and do not elaborate. The Scameras do not have to send them but usually do. These photos will show you where the photo was and the quality of the ping or Gatso hit, as there may be arrors. I suggest you write off today as they may not click you have already identified your by returning the NIP. Pete D
