I'm having several problems though - and am seeing some evidence that it might e the same for others.
1/. Posting generally - having spent a few minutes posting a reply I'm frequently frustrated that the post doesn't appear and page shows IE cannot display, etc--. I check and have never actually lost connection so why does this happen - i'm also still logged in.
I concede it could be my browser but is IE 7 that bad?
I suspect this is happening to others because, taking this morning as an example - two new names in parking and decrim. Over about 30 mins each appeared to try and post as they were 'italicced' as 'typing' for about five minutes each. Neither post appeared? Was wondering if they were experiencing the same as me and having to have numerous attempts (ok, in my case the fact I can't post easily is probably a relief to many!
I know that post content gets saved in some way and it is important not to hit the browser back button - still not quite getting how to easily salvage content and re-use it - I just copy and paste at the mo but can't always get it to work.
I could just type up in 'word' beforehand but just another delay. I notice that some people do this, particularly noobs, as the font and size indicate so.
Another thing I've tried is to copy the text of a reply before I hit the 'submit' button. site won't allow this for some reason but text is copiable after posting?
2/. What i'm seeing has drastically changed about two weeks ago. I used to see all the text of each thread, in date order, straight away. Now I'm only seeing the names of each respondent and first few words. then have to click on each at a time to read each post - takes longer to get the story/picture. This new post list is also in general date order - except if someone quotes a previous post - then it appears in the list directly under that post and any other previous quotes of the same. So most recent post on the thread can appear way up in the list if someone is referencing an earlier comment.
I have just discovered that I can still read threads in the original way if I go 'lo-fi'. I was just wondering if this change had happened to everyone else or - is it a result of some change in my browser settings I wasn't aware of?
Thanks.
