My family and I recently visited a Retail Park in Sheffield. Have used this on numerous occasions before without a problem . However a couple of days later got a notice from G24Ltd with £95 fine for overstaying my free 3hrs free parking. Photographic evidence of my car entering and leaving and times etc.

I have since been back to the park and yes there are a number of signs erected in the car park. To be on safe side I came armed with digi camera. Did notice that the signs had at some stage been amended with stick-ons. Basically these stated that the fine would be imposed after 3 hrs of free parking. However the one nearest the bay which I used on the day had not been amended and still read fine to be imposed after 1 1/2hrs. I have taken photos of the comparable signs and duly sent them off to G24 stating that as they are responsible for enforcing the parking regulations then they are also responsible for ensuring that their sineage is maintained in a correct manner and not being ambiguous and misleading to the motorist. After all which sign should I be adhering to?
Not heard anything back as yet. Anyone got any thoughts on this as to where I stand.?

Do not worry yourself at all..

Ignore everything they send you, file in a drawer and get on with life

DO NOT PAY>
bama
utter rubboish from G24 - as usual.

Do NOT pay them
Do NOT contact them - thats exactly what they want you to do.
Do NOT worry.
Get on with your life

All you have is an unenforceable invoice. read the PPC FAQ
forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?autocom=ibwiki&cmd=article&id=56
and some of the many threads here about PPCs.

It is a Con. the PPCs know how their Con works and they know how it
fails
. So do we smile.gif

There is NO need to worry at all.
Just read the threads here and try and find a case where it is has ended
badly for one of our advised 'PPC victim' posters..
When you get fed up looking for one the reality of the situation and the
strength of your position will sink in.

Once you have your head around it tell ALL your friends about this Con and
how to handle it.

You will very likely get a series of letters full of misleading bluff and bow
locks. just keep them in the drawer. They are all just landfiill, let the PPC
waste its money sending them.

To make it go away do nothing and they will move onto other fish.
Contact them and you get on the hooked fish list and they will pester you.

If you want to do something about it (and this IS a fight back forum)
then send a photocopy of each and every piece of paper you get from them to
local Trading Standards along with a stiff letter of complaint.

If you want to do more wait for the first bow locks letter you get, which you now have - they
will have spent 2.50 at the DVLA to get the Registered Keeper's details (smile.gif)
write to the DVLA and ask for a copy of the request made by the PPC and the
backup evidence of contract with the landowner (see forms V888/2 and v888/3
on the DVLA website http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/Ownin...icle/DG_4022067
).
Then write to the landowner complaining about their
part in this pursuit of unenforceable scam 'debts'. And complain to the ICO.

How far you fight back is up to you but the more that do it the better IMV.

Private companies cannot 'fine' you.
The only recourse in law for breach of contract is damages. What's the damage of you overstaying on a free car park? £0.

It's a scam.

Do not pay and do not contact them. Ignore any letters you receive. They will try and scare you into paying with court action. Absolute rubbish.

Ignore them and they will go away.

1 Shop somewhere else in future, write to the retail site manager and tell him why you no longer shop there.

2 DO NOT PAY

3 DO NOT PAY

The first question with all private parking tickets is: can we see the signs please? It is theoretically possible for a parking charge to be imposed but I've not come across a sign that has managed to do so.
