You may have noticed that we've added a Google site search box in the header of every forum page (and also in the footer on the website). This site is very well indexed by Google, and although the search facility built into the forum software does have some advantages, for most people we think that the ability of Google to include short search terms (eg NIP, or M42), produce faster results, and provide always-on availability will more than make up for this.

Another advantage of this is that by pushing most of the search load onto Google we hope to be able to leave built-in search functions like Find Member's Topics/Posts switched on permanently.

You don't need to put "pepipoo" in the search box, as it only returns results from PePiPoo anyway.

The existing search facility remains available to BB&G members, as Google can't index the member-only forums.
