I was then overtaking a group of caravans that i had been following along a single carriageway for around ten miles, speed got excessive, slowed down to 70 as soon as i saw the camera. Forgot to ask what i wanted, basically i know im going to get points and possibly a ban, but what are the most likely outcomes? And can i avoid going to court and take quite a few points but not enough to get me banned (6)?

The ACPO guidelines suggest offering a fixed penalty for speeds of up to 95 in a 70 limit, so if you play ball and 'fess up to being the driver, you should expect a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty (3 points, £60) by return of post.

So are you within the first two years? If so, Getting 6 points isn't ban, it means your license is revoked, which isn't the same thing at all. Outside of this you will either get points or a ban, you can't get both for an offence.
