I have "-3 new messages" - why ?

The "New Message" count is fundametally flawed.
In normal circumstances, it shows how may new PMs have been received since you last opened or refreshed your messenger, rather than how many unread PMs you have.
When you open or refresh "your messenger" the count resets to zero.
However, if someone deletes a message that they have sent to you (before you read it), the message count decreases, even if it was at zero.
If you have a negative new message count, it does not reset to zero when you refresh "your messenger".

If you send yourself 3 messages and read them, the count will revert to zero. However, if you track them and delete them from "Message Tracker" (before reading them), the defecit increases.

You can also 'achieve' this by moving your sent items before archiving them (when you move the sent items they become 'unread')............... as andy said ......... although I might use a different 'f' word!

The software update applied yesterday should have fixed this problem.
