I’ve just received a court summon for exceeding the speed limit of 30mph by 5mph.

I did not receive a NIP letter relating to the said offence on the date shown.

Can you please give me some advice, how to proceed with this matter?

Thank you,

Rizla

Sorry! forgot to add NIP WIZZARD details.

NIP Details and Circumstances
What is the name of the Constabulary? - Thames Valley
Date of the offence: - July 2006
Date of the NIP: - 12 days after the offence
Date you received the NIP: - 187 days after the offence
Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): - A4146 Fenny Road, Stoke Hammond.
Was the NIP addressed to you? - Yes
Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery? - NK
How many current points do you have? - 3
Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - I did not receive the original NIP. I’m now present with a court summons which included a copy of a NIP with the above dates.

I cannot remember when this offence was committed or any details, due to it being after 6 months.

Have you moved your address?
Have you had mail go missing before? If yes, would there be a valid explaination why that was the case.
There is usually a follow up CofP before they take such extreme measures.
