Hi all,
Just wondering what to do in this situation. I'm pretty sure I'm going to plead not guilty to the charge of failure to identify the driver with a non-receipt defence - unless this is a terrible idea?
However, I'm unsure what to do about the speeding charge. It was probably me, but the date in question is from 4 months ago - so who knows. How do I respond if I want to see the evidence due to the amount of time that has passed?
Thanks
Edit: The speeding charge itself was for going 37 in a 30. If I can just say it was me and get off with an awareness course for minimal hassle (i.e. not going to court) that would be ideal, but I don't want to give in that easily if I don't have to. To me it feels like they just were never going to have sent off the initial letter within the 14 days they have, so they just waited until now to hit me for it in a way I won't know how to defend
Edit 2: I do have a plausible reason I didn't receive the letter even if they did actually send it, there is another house in the same area with the exact same first line of address as mine and we frequently get each other's post, and they only ever bothered to get it back to me if it was a parcel.
