Full Version: The law and defences for bus lane tickets

I have just received a FPN for driving in a bus lane within the London Borough of Lambeth (not too sure I did but that's another story)

Unfortunately I am more experienced with the speeding side of things and have absolutely no idea on defences/things to look out for in fighting a FPN. Are there time frames the council/TFL should adhere to? Do these FPNs ever time out (like speeding cases)?

I have searched through this forum and found conflicting arguments/defences, so I'm really none the wiser. I looked through the Read This First too, but that left me more confused. Does anyone know of an up to date comprehensive idiots guide thread/web page to fight these (and what mistakes on the ticket to look out for)?

Thanks for your time

check the patas cases

seacrh on bus lane enforcement

the PCN/NTO/rejection of reps often do not conform
to regulations (very similar to the issues in parking pcns)
except serviceof pcn is by post

posta the anonymised pcn here for copmment

actually not much on the patas site - just that a minicab is not
a taxi

it does howver go through the statutes you need to check for the offence

There is some discussion of a PCN for a Bus lane contravention here.
You can pretty much ignore my contribution on it.
