Hi Not sure if you can help on EU matters
Just been advised by the registered keeper who was NOT the driver of a speeding offense in Germany on 6 Dec 2019. Some I understand ( I page ) is written in German and the reply states it must be in German.
If the registered keeper can prove by virtue that they were not in Germany (passport check at Dover and was at work) and therefore could not have committed the offense what obligation do they have to complete the form and respond with full details of the driver if known. I have looked at the AA link which is quite useful but not sure on this if the registered keeper is deemed guilty until proven innocent by completing the form and are they obliged to respond ? If they are obliged what info are they compelled to give in response . was thinking in the response must be in German just simply state "SORRY DO NOT SPEAK GERMAN will you accept it in German and YOU do the google translate". Timing is a bit bad over the festive season as only just received it and a response is wanted by 2 Jan
I note this EU have made a one way system where they can track UK offenders via DVLA but we cant reciprocate.
I will be picking up the 3 page document and post it here
