What do you do if you ain't got a credit card?!
Fredd
Mon, 15 Mar 2004 - 11:10
From time to time we're asked why we use PayPal to process credit card payments, and whether we offer other payment options.
We use PayPal because:
+ PePiPoo is not a commercial website, and the volume of payments we take does not come close to justifying a merchant account with a credit card processor.
+ PayPal provides a number of facilities that allow us to link payments into our website (such as recurring subscription payments and shopping carts) that are not as well supported by others such as Nochex.
+ PayPal accepts Visa and Mastercard credit cards for both one-off and recurring payments.
+ It really is very easy nowadays for a customer to pay via PayPal - if you haven't tried it for a while you might be surprised how simple it is now. The only extra information you have to provide beyond what you would if we used WorldPay (say) is an e-mail address and a password of your choice.
As for other payment methods:
- We aren't keen on cheques, simply because of the delays in posting/paying-in/clearing and the administrative effort involved - we don't do this as a full-time job, after all!
- We do use Nochex to process debit card payments where we can, but this is limited due to issues with integrating it into the website and forum software.
I hope this at least explains why we do what we do, even if it isn't everyone's first choice!

Andy,
We are looking into car stickers etc. and the minimum order quantity would be for around 200. Would anyone like to volunteer to stuff the envelopes etc.?
Our Webmaster (Fred Case fredcase@pepipoo.com) has informed me that, anyone who has real problems with using PayPal, should contact him directly and “he will see what he can do for them”.

Fair do's.
But how about if I mail you cash or a P.O.?
I wouldn't touch PayPal with the proverbial bargepole:

Mika/Fred,
Can we pay direct into your bank account.
I have internet banking so I can pay direct to you if you give me your bank details.
I had trouble paying with paypal. I had to wait for some number to appear on my credit card statement.

Just tried to use Paypal for the first time. What an absolute pile of pants!!
All seemed well until I was asked to pay $2 to have to wait for a number on my next CC bill in order that I am authorised to spend my own money??
Please let us pay direct into your bank account?

Here are the "rules" the forum uses:
* Visitors can't see the Members forum at all!
* Registered Users can see the Members forum, but only the Announcements topic (they can post there too).
* Members can see the Announcements topic, plus all the members-only topics (at present Bad Boyz & Girlz).
[/list]
So, if you can see "Bad Boyz & Girlz", then you're in!
The Announcements topic has restricted rights, and is really meant to provide somewhere that non-Members (or people trying to subscribe) can find out about membership or get help subscribing. The intention is that Members will generally post in the "Bad Boyz & Girlz" topic, where you can run polls etc.

Hi Mika
My PC blocks paypal, for some unknown reason.
Send me an address by PM and I will post you a cheque for the 12 months.
Franz Kafka in his book THE TRIAL wrote about the kind of injustice that is today evidenced in the courts of HM Prison Britain.
Cheers!

Hi all,
Signed up the other day and had a good old read of the antics of the 'bad boyz and girlz', but I'm now getting "Sorry, but only users granted special access can read topics in this forum".
Is this because I cancelled my subscription after the payment went through? (Didn't want it to automatically renew after 12 months)
What can I do to sort it? I wanna be a baaaad girl

Yup, that was the problem - as soon as you cancel our super-efficient forum software immediately obeys your command and blocks you from the forum
Since you're paid up until June next year (and we do like baaaad girlz at PePiPoo

) I've reinstated your access until then.

Wahay!!!!!
Just joined the bad boyz/girlz club.
started subscribing yearly.
£30!!!! Cheap at half the price when you think of what you save!!! I saved £60 and 3 points (which would have cost more on my insurance

!!)if it hadnt been for pepipoo and its members, as I would have just accepted my £60 and 3 points,

as I did not know any better before coming here!
Imagine what Mika and the guys could do if everyone who had a success and saved on a fine and points donated/subscribed, even if its the bare minimum.
The word needs to be spread, as with more money in the fund, more cases can be fought!!
Jusy my humble opinion though.
Many thanks to everyone who helped me.

Why wait for the success? I joined because I want to help fight the cause - but I have never received a NIP. (You watch, one will drop on the doormat Monday morning.

I would hapily lick and stick. and set up an e-bay account to sell them on
etc. All that would be needed is to foward the email with a message rule

Anton,
Thanks for the offer and I will ask Fred Case (our Webmaster) to get some quotes.
How many do you think we should order?…
anton
Thu, 4 Nov 2004 - 15:22
That depends on Price! My hunch is that they should sell at a fiver as a donation to the fighting fund + a free sticker. (maybe reduced for additional stickers?)
I will pay the postage on the first 500! I don't want to handle any money- that should go direct in to the fund via paypal.
All I need is stickers and e-mails telling me where they are to be posted to. (i think I can set up the ebay account and that will raise profile too.)
envelopes are not a problem, I've got about 1000 spare A4 & A5 I can also print up a "with compliments flyer"(2-sided a4 b/w) If that is designed/agreed by every one.

Anton,
Thanks for your kind offer and Fred (our Webmaster) is on the case.
Incidentally, last Saturday morning, I had a very nasty experience in a vehicle similar to the one that you have as your avatar. Suffice to say that, following the incident in question, I turned the windscreen wipers on but all of the water was on the inside of the screen.
To give you a clue, some Triumphs of that age have a cardboard bell housing, which doesn’t always fit that well 36 years after they were made and we had a lot of rain last Friday night.
It’s a shame I haven’t got the incident on video but the “management” is rather gland that she declined my kind offer and decided to stay at home.

Just tried to subscribe.. the paypal thingy told me i had to go to www.paypal.com and sign up before completing the transaction?
Is this correct - or has my transaction now gone through?
Cheers

Hi,
In order to use the PayPal services, I believe you must register first.
It should be easy to tell if your registration has gone through because access to the member’s forum happens automatically, shortly after a successful registration.
What happens when you click on
this link?
If it asked you to ‘log in’, your registration transaction was probably unsuccessful.

Quick note to say Hi to everyone, although I've not currently got anything outstanding I was so impressed by the site, and work that's going on I felt I just had to join...Especially as there's no requirement to, no scam just decent honest advice!
I feel like going out and getting scammera'd just so that I can join in, but I won't, at least not on purpose....
