Full Version: PCN code 83 - Ticket Upside Down On Dashboard
FightBack Forums > Queries > Council Parking Tickets & Clamping and Decriminalised Notices
Hey everyone,

Bought a ticket and placed on the dashboard this morning. I have either left it upside down or the wind has caught as the door shut, either way I received a PCN for code 83 (Parked in a car park without clearly displaying a ticket...).

The ticket itself has an ID printed on both sides which is clearly visible in the councils evidence photos. I have taken a picture of the front side, which clearly shows the same ID as their evidence and is a valid ticket.

What would the best approach to challenge this PCN be?

Council evidence of ticket ID:

You should be OK with this provided you haven't done something like this before - Leicester policy:

"Pay and display ticket not displayed correctly, preventing the CEO from checking the ticket"

"First contravention cancelled, if proof of valid ticket provided. Further contraventions are not cancelled"

So you make a polite challenge including pic of ticket saying that you had a valid ticket for the time of the PCN, as enclosed, as confimed by the serial number on the picture taken by your CEO of the ticket, which had flipped over, and would they kindly cancel on this occasion. You are not sure how the ticket flipped over but you undertake to be more careful in future.
