Click to view attachmentIs it worth challenging this PCN or should I just accept I was in the wrong and pay?

To enforce footway parking outside London a Traffic management order is required and signs must be placed to indicate this. I cannot see any on GSV

Thank you for your help. GSV is correct, there isn’t any signage to indicate that a TMO is in place. Is there a correct way to phrase the challenge of this PCN?

Check the area you are looking for this sign (item 7)

Definitely no signs meeting your description. Thanks again

There is an order that includes Cranliegh Road and covers verges on both sides for its entire length.
https://tro.trafficpenaltytribunal.gov.uk/T...areham/FH02.pdf
That is one part of the equation that the council needs.

The second is signage to make the restriction clear.
There is one sign on one side at the start of the road

There are repeaters on that side on a regular basis (at least on streetview) and as you get towards the end where verges appear on other side, signs on that side.

It looks like this one was nearest to OP with them parked by green fence on right in distance.

Only query I would have is whether signs are close enough but don't know if I would want to risk discount on it.

Thank you. I will check again. I entered Cranleigh Road via Orchard Grove so those signs weren’t visible. The nearest one does appear to be the one you’ve pointed out on GSV.....this is six bungalows away......I wonder if it’s worth a challenge because of this??

Don't consider challenging until you've seen their evidence photos, the ones you've posted are yours, aren't they?

You need to see which sign they offer in evidence.

And if you're returning to the site, don't traipse the length of Cranleigh, it's not needed.

The authority must show that the restriction was conveyed and in this case this means that you passed or you could see clearly from where you parked a sign giving the restriction. If you entered from Orchard then, in the direction of travel shown by your photo, you travelled no more than 15 metres and did not pass a sign. None is visible from the location.

However, there are signs in Orchard. Are these the same restriction?

The 'I did not pass or see' argument might not hold if the whole area is subject to the same restriction.

Anyway, this is getting ahead of the evidence.

Yes the ones posted are mine. Indeed it was about 15 metres I travelled. There are signs along Orchard grove. How would I know if the restrictions cover the whole area?

The traffic order I posted earlier includes Orchard Grove

Thank you everyone. So the next step is to ask for their evidence....I’ll update!

If you can, go back and look at what is there.
Streetview only says what was there when the google car went down.
