“BAD IDEA” its an utterly stupid idea and could mean time in jail...especially as you havo just announced it in here. She has to declare who the driver was ( and nothing else) and wait and see. Others will advise further

Deliberately naming the wrong driver could result in a PCOJ charge...

If she names you, the police will send you your own S172 form to complete
Name yourself promptly and hope they have no reason to check if you were unaccompanied
You've had a wake-up call and, if you were too fast for a course, will have your licence revoked if you collect another 3 points within 2 years of passing your test
Your wife's idea is called Perverting the Course of Justice and a jail term is a likely outcome

There is nothing to stop a provisional licence holder getting a speeding fine. As has been said if you just follow the process there is very little chance anyone will query it.
It does mean that when you pass your test one further offence will see you lose your licence until these points drop off or you've had your licence two years.

Well, that was a useful thread. Anyone who simply deletes their OP obviously doesn’t need our help. TTFN.
