Hi guys,

I do not know why i decided to do this but was a genuine mistake and contravention happened in a couple of seconds. I have also attached video of said contravention

Date of contravention is 26/01/2017 notice received 02/02/2017

Here's the street view - it looks like a confusing layout to me as you can see it turns into two lanes with a turn right just after the restriction. But driving on the wrong side there looks dangerous to me and there is a hatched area, although a bit worn, protecting it.

I know this spot very well. For years people have been doing as you have done, but use it to skip the queue that usually runs from the traffic lights back to the exit to Tesco carpark that you can see on the left.

Waltham Forest have obviously realised the money making potential of this spot and are cashing in.

Not sure how you'll get out of this one, it's not at all confusing when approaching the part of the road in my opinion so doubt you'll get anywhere arguing that, but obviously you made a genuine mistake. In 20 odd years of driving there day in day out the only people I've seen drive on the wrong side are those trying to jump the queue at the lights.

Probably need to take this one on the chin.
