Hi
The other day I was following a traffic on a junction and I was already on the pedestrian crossing when the light changed to amber and then to red . I stopped immediately on amber 3/4 of the pedestrian crossing as the cars in front of me were not moving and waited till the next change to green. There was a yellow camera behind me (with the stripes running on the edges of the[attachment=34062:speedcurb.jpg] road ) and gray one on the other side of the road (facing me). What are the chances I was flashed and how long do I have to wait these days for the ticket (I hope this never happens!) I am attaching the photo of the camera which was behind me. From what you describe, if you were not moving on red, then no offence committed, so no reason for the camera to go off!

If he stopped on the pedestrian crossing an offence was committed but wouldn't be detected by the camera.

Thanks guys. My concern is whether the camera I attached photo, is designed to act as red light device or only for speed?
Also are the grey type of cameras meant to take pics from the opposite side of the road? |

Ok thanks is the yellow one attached a red light camera as well? That looks like a Redspeed Speed on Green camera, which acts as a red light camera when the lights are red and a speed camera when they are green LINK -------------------- |

If he stopped on the pedestrian crossing an offence was committed but wouldn't be detected by the camera. Although the OP referred to a ped crossing, it seems more likely from his description that it was actually a ped crossing point at a light-controlled junction, and therefore not subject to the Zebra, Pelican & Puffin Regs. If so, is stopping an offence? |
