Reason I ask is for the very first time, I think I saw a flash in the rear view mirror.
I ask is that I have checked my position against another gatso and can see it In the ns door mirror and the Fresnel screen on the rear Door. The bus rear is approx 20-25 ft from the gatso in this position. Now I would have seen one flash in either of those prior to the one I saw in in interior mirror. The bar room people have many theories on these one is single flash means no film,or one flash is a warning shot,so to speak. However if neither of these are true, does Thames valley do sac and as I was in the mid 30s by Speedo equals 33 on the sat nav. Do I need to worry for 14 days? GATSOs always flash twice, film or not. You wouldn't get NIP for 33 anyway. A SAC would normally be offered between 35 and 43.

With only one flash there won't be a camera in it.

I have seen Gatsos flashing just once but, as people have already said, two photos are required for a conviction using Gatso evidence.
I was told years ago, and of course I may have been misinformed, that Gatsos can detect vehicles breaking the speed limit coming towards them and they only flash once on those occasions. They don't take two photos as they don't have type approval for approaching vehicles (unlike Truvelos). I did get a single flash myself from a Gatso on the other side of the road many years ago on a remote Scottish road at 'a fair pace' and never heard anything more about it. When there is no camera in the box, a low grade radar unit is sometimes fitted which just operates the flash (once).

AIUI they can't be set to photograph one way and just flash the other, they other take a photo or do nothing.
As suggested it is much more likely a dummy flash unit. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

Got into work today to e greeted with the info they have had a S172 and sent it off.
so oh Bugger, it was for 35 in a 30. Why couldnt it have been a BiB with a handgun, perhaps i might have been given a good bollocking and sent on my way suitable chastened Still at least kittens werent killed and its another 100GBP in their coffers. I am all for these units but where it is proved to be needed not to be a revenue raiser. Just hope the SAC tutor is a person with their head screwed on, and not as another guy had, trying to convince the course that wherever there was a slow sign on the road, it was where someone had been killed !!! Honest |

If you feel strongly about SAC's being a waste of time you are free to decline to do one.

Oh Dear, you really should get your eyesight tested.
Let us paraphrase I just hope the chicken i eat is well cooked and flavoursome and not like one my friend had which was raw and he contracted salmonella So , you now opine that by me saying that i hate all chicken??????? If i could be arsed to find your other effort at a superb misquote, i might, but i dont think i will bother, you will only twist it around to your way of thinking. Its a shame but i rally do enjoy reading some of your inputs ( oh that means i dont like any of them!!!) please dont lower your reputation any f further in my eyes Have a good weekend |

Considering I said
QUOTE If you feel strongly about SAC's being a waste of time you are free to decline to do one. rather than telling you that this was what you thought I would suggest you have simply misunderstood what I wrote which was a simple statement that doing a SAC is up to you and if, note the word, you think it a waste of time don't do it. No more no less.Fortunately I couldn't care less what my reputation is. Enjoy your chicken. |
