I popped into the store today and noticed that every ticket machine was "out of order", and there was no sign of the parking "attendant" . I wonder if the PPC have been given their marching orders?

Honestly, I think with TCP/Smart it's only a matter of time at all Asda stores, especially with their name change thing and recent DVLA temporary ban. There have been so many complaints that we have seen on forums about this bunch it's giving Asda a bad name - and there must be shedloads more that never touch a forum but still complain.

or, maybe no one has been along to emply the cash boxes?

TCP/Smart have four sites (2 of them ASDA) around here covered by only 2 "attendants" and one of them has been made redundant largely, it seems, because he doesn't drive.
So, 1 "attendant" for 4 sites and transport is required to provide cover.
I wonder what's happening?

ANPR, that's what's happening.
Cheaper and doesn't need holidays or sick leave.

How is that going to replace the present scheme where you pay a pound and then get a refund when you use the supermarket? Also, how are they going to monitor disabled and P&C spaces via ANPR.

The cameras haven't arrived yet but you're probably right - time will tell, as they say.

Enter your reg in the store? PE have recently been giving out flyers that BBH's can pre-register their registrations to get 'double time allowance'. (Doesn't cover the Equality Act really though)

Personally, I'll miss the smug looking 'wardens' trying to ticket everything they can (hiding around the corner waiting to see if your kiddies get out). Although, ANPR is probably worse but much more profitable. But hold on, they are only claim their losses so no profit anyway...

Personally, I avoid as many stores as possible that have 'third party car park management'. The stores lose out but that's their problem.

It won't and regarding the disabled, it will be done same as all the other sites.

They're fitting ANPR to many of the old Netto stores, although not without problems, so sites like Retford won't be far behind.
