NIP Details and Circumstances
What is the name of the Constabulary? -
Date of the offence: - July 2009
Date of the NIP: - 10 days after the offence
Date you received the NIP: - 12 days after the offence
Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): - A163 Holme on Spalding Moor
Was the NIP addressed to you? - Yes
Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery? - First
If your are not the Registered Keeper, what is your relationship to the vehicle? - i am a HGV driver of that vehicle
How many current points do you have? - 6
Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - not sure wot happened..certainly was not flashed by a camera..and did not see a mobile van either

says on the NIP...have either still or videographic evidence! 39 mph in an apparent 30 MPH area

NIP Wizard Responses
These were the responses used by the Wizard to arrive at its recommendation:
Have you received a NIP? - Yes
Are you the Registered Keeper of the vehicle concerned (is your name and address on the V5/V5C)? - No
Is the NIP addressed to you personally? - Yes
Although you are not the Registered Keeper, were you the keeper of the vehicle concerned (the person normally responsible for it) at the time of the alleged offence? - Yes
Were you driving? - Unsure
Do you know who was driving? - Unsure who was driving

NIP Wizard Recommendation
Based on these responses the Wizard suggested that this course of action should be considered:

Generated by the PePiPoo NIP Wizard v3.3.2: Tue, 01 Sep 2009 19:39:07 +0100

had to check with work and my tachographs..i was driving the vehicle on that day!..i have filled in and returned the S172 with my details...any advice as also have a summons to sort as well for not completing an S172 so another possible 6 points to be added.

this is not going to be a good year for me i think!!!!

Why are you unsure of the driver. This is an HGV and your tacho ID's you at the date and time on the incident. Peter D

39 in a 30 would usually get an offer of a fixed penalty OR an offer of a seed awareness course, not a summons, although that is not impossible.

Not much you can do now you've returned the S172 form.

Try the scammers website to see what device it was if you like, not sure how that will help though.

Why not post a NEW thread for the S172 case (one case one thread!) so we can try and help.

Accept it if you have nothing to fight with. Do you deny speeding?

If you mean "do they have six months in which to prosecute me?" then the answer is "yes".
