NIP Details and Circumstances
What is the name of the Constabulary? -
Date of the offence: - July 2008
Date of the NIP: - 15 days after the offence
Date you received the NIP: - 18 days after the offence
Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): - A1047, DEREHAM ROAD, NORWICH, towards City Centre
Was the NIP addressed to you? - No
Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery? - Not known
If your are not the Registered Keeper, what is your relationship to the vehicle? - Company vehicle
How many current points do you have? - 0
Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - Driving in 40mph zone. Hadn't seen change to 30mph. Camera flashed at 38mph.
NIP was posted to company head office but the NIP is dated 18th. Am I correct in thinking this is outside of the 'within 14 days' requirement.

NIP Wizard Responses
These were the responses used by the Wizard to arrive at its recommendation:
Have you received a NIP? - Yes
Are you the Registered Keeper of the vehicle concerned (is your name and address on the V5/V5C)? - No
Is the NIP addressed to you personally? - No

NIP Wizard Recommendation
Based on these responses the Wizard suggested that this course of action should be considered:
  • Do nothing!

The police are not requesting the information from you, they are requesting it from the person the NIP is addressed to.
Wait until you receive a NIP addressed to you personally, then come back here.

The 14 day rule only applies to the delivery to the RK and it is not your details on the V5 according to you. You will have to establish then the company recieved it and when it was dated. Yours was the second NIP. Pete D

PD

i think he is talking about the company one, unless there a lease company involved as the first link

then yes its exspired but you will prob end up in court with it before you win

have the company date stamped it and logged it in and kept a copy, if so this will help greatly

ask them to leave it as long as pos within the 28 days to reurn

then you will get your own and you can start the fight
