What is the name of the Constabulary? - Date of the offence: - May 2008 Date of the NIP: - 7 days after the offence Date you received the NIP: - 8 days after the offence Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): - A140, SCOLE, towards Eye Was the NIP addressed to you? - Yes Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery? - First If your are not the Registered Keeper, what is your relationship to the vehicle? - How many current points do you have? - 0 Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - Dual carriageway, around half a mile after a roundabout i noticed the van ontop of the bridge, it was half covered by trees, i put the brakes on but was still caught doing 94 in a 70. The time was 17:21. I was then overtaking a group of caravans that i had been following along a single carriageway for around ten miles, speed got excessive, slowed down to 70 as soon as i saw the camera. There is a speed camera sign on the left side of the dual carriageway, after the roundabout. NIP Wizard Responses These were the responses used by the Wizard to arrive at its recommendation: Have you received a NIP? - Yes Are you the Registered Keeper of the vehicle concerned (is your name and address on the V5/V5C)? - Yes Did the first NIP arrive within 14 days? - Yes Although you are the Registered Keeper, were you also the keeper of the vehicle concerned (the person normally responsible for it) at the time of the alleged offence? - Yes Were you driving? - Yes Which country did the alleged offence take place in? - England - England NIP Wizard Recommendation Based on these responses the Wizard suggested that this course of action should be considered: Generated by the PePiPoo NIP Wizard v3.3.2: Thu, 15 May 2008 17:06:33 +0100 |

The ACPO guidelines suggest offering a fixed penalty for speeds of up to 95 in a 70 limit, so if you play ball and 'fess up to being the driver, you should expect a Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty (3 points, £60) by return of post.

And can i avoid going to court and take quite a few points but not enough to get me banned (6)? So are you within the first two years? If so, Getting 6 points isn't ban, it means your license is revoked, which isn't the same thing at all. Outside of this you will either get points or a ban, you can't get both for an offence. |
