Hi. I parked my van on the single yellow line. No signs close to this place except opposite the road. If the sign is opposite it's still catching other side?
You can click the link bellow to see where it is and my van was parked the same like Vauxhall on the Google map. You can see how far the is sign ison the side where I parked.

Here is the link with some photos and screenshot from their website

I will be grateful for any advice
Thank you

So they have these signs scattered around - no controlled zone it seems with 'football days' and I don't think the sign conforms to regs. Not even obvious all the single yellows have them.

OP - post the PCN.

Post all the council photos and the PCN. Ultimately it's up to the council to prove that there were signs in place to alert you to the fact that it was a match day. I wouldn't be able to tell you if it's a match day if my life depended on it.

I've checked and it's not in a Swindon residents zone at least.

The sign is ridiculous though surely.

Council pics are in post 1 - I think we are just missing the PCN.

Hello.
Here is the link to PCN photos.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/NSLznudxRRVYPegV9
I've never seen any signs/displays around with the information about the match day with a date and time. They don't show any photos as well in their system, just the sign which you can see on the link from my 1st post.
Thank you

Very simple challenge then:

---------

Dear Swindon Borough Council,

I challenge liability on the grounds that the alleged contravention did not occur. There were no signs at the location that indicated match day restrictions were in force, and the council will undoubtedly appreciate that not all motorists are football fans. The council is required by regulation 18 of The Local Authorities' Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 to install and maintain adequate signage and in this instance it has failed to discharge that duty, because it is impossible for a motorist to know from the signage whether it is a match day. For this reason the alleged contravention did not occur and the penalty charge must be cancelled.

Yours faithfully,

Hello. So here is the reply.
https://photos.app.goo.gl/qZZ5ZFuecrTTCkMR6

"There is not parking on any match days when Swindon Town Football are playing at home and this is shown on the main sign at the Swindon Town Ground"
Here is the link to the place where is the stadium and this sign:
County Rd
https://maps.app.goo.gl/jHNkD5JKWciMwM4s9

I understand I have to drive there minimum 1 time a week and check if there is a match or not?

I think they are having a laugh by citing that billboard by the football ground.

This is a restricted parking zone and it must be signed properly.

The sheer tosh councils write when responding to reps beggars belief. I would take them all the way, with their letter as the main exhibit.

Yes, although it's called notice to owner (NTO). Unless someone else advises you to pay up, which I doubt.

is the vehicle registered to you and is the V5C address correct and up to date.

And the correct address?

A RPZ needs to have an entrance sign at every entrance to the zone and I can't see any on GSV

Address is correct definitely.
I will check main entrance tomorrow morning but I don't think there is any sign, definitely no sign which telling you when is the football day. This is free parking area generally, no permitted.

It's irrelevant anyway.

A RPZ cannot have yellow lines!

“restricted parking zone”
an area—
(a)into which each entrance for vehicular traffic has been indicated by a sign which includes the symbol and legend at item 2 of the sign table in Part 3 of Schedule 5; and
(b)in which none of the road markings at items 1 to 4 of the sign table in Part 4 of Schedule 7 has been placed

http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2016/362/schedule/7/made

There are yellow lines.

Ergo, it is not a RPZ.

It might be an area with restrictions, but this does not make it a RPZ.

So what do we have then - just individually marked yellows with a football days only subplate. No zone, no entry sign, no inkling of a football day, no penalty? Swindon, being in the equivalent of the old 4th division, clearly doesn't merit a decent zone.

The signs are not lawful unless the council could produce a SoS authorisation.

Happy to be shown where a yellow panel may have 'football days only'.

OP, the location and markings are important. No-one cares a fig about remote signs, you start with what was present where you were.

And there were yellow lines, therefore subject to the time plate, assuming it was there, and the time plate's unlawful and unclear.
