It seems these cameras are new. Article here saying installing Feb 2019:
https://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/rother...es-cameras-tfl/

One of our drivers has obviously not understood the restrictions sign on approaching the tunnel and has driven the sprinter through (allegedly).

Here is the PCN and 3x photos: Link

The black boxes are me covering the reg etc. The lease company have emailed me with a notification of the PCN coming through to them.
I think with London PCNs there is an old law saying they cannot transfer liability and therefore the lease company pay TFL ones and bill on to us (with an admin fee).

I actually can't match up the location of the van using google maps..... can this be appealed on any grounds pertaining to location or the fact that there are no GPS coordinates on the PCN?

Let's see the signage.

AFAIK GPS ccoordinates are not a requirement. Location description on PCN would seem to be clear enough.

It's not your PCN unless it is reassigned to you via the lease company.

Only points I can see are signage clear on approaches giving time to work out and exit, and if the van should be exempt.

may be best to pay the discount and avoid admin fee from lease co. if poss.

Always thought this type of restriction was unfair since it's about a van being loaded to the max--ergo empty vans with a kerb weight of less than 2 tonnes are caught as well. I doubt that, under the current contravention codes, TfL can enforce the height restriction.

You may be right, but I don't see a way out for the OP.

I can find no signage

The lease company can transfer liability under the 2003 regs No special rules for TfL

Signage here Rotherhythe tunnel retrictions

The GVW weight restriction is 17 tonne so how is the weight restriction contravened with that van?

According to TfL they're enforcing 2 tons

That's fine if they have an order to that effect and it is correctly signed

It must be a new restriction as there was no 2 tonne restriction until a few months ago. The OP would need to go back and take photos to confirm the signage.

Apologies. The GSV link I posted is dated March 2018 so I assumed it was current. The new restrictions started in September 2018.

They've included a map with location of signs that should be installed on their website:
