Hello
Thank you for reading [attachment=60537:20190103_211040.jpg] I got bus lane charge notice in Reading the location is minster Street (Westbound) I did attach both sides of the charge certificate On this link here https://parking.reading.gov.uk/TicketDetails.aspx Just put Vehicle Registration Number LO18ATF Penalty Charge Notice RG88094253 And you will see the evidence: both on pictures and video you do not see any sing or marks saying bus lane I did also find out about this website here https://www.getreading.co.uk/news/reading-b...-night-13705554 Where many drives have been caught in this buss lane If the penalty is fear I just pay it, but both pictures and video do seem very clear Thank you very much in advance for your support This post has been edited by Parkingt: Thu, 3 Jan 2019 - 23:30 |

Is this the first letter you've had from the council? You should have received a Penalty Charge Notice before receiving the charge certificate.

cp8759 I did change address and this is what my previous landlord gave me today I do not know where the Penalty Charge Notice letter is You've been very lucky ! Far too many people move house, don't update their V5, then months later have bailiffs at the door demanding hundreds of pounds. You can't appeal a charge certificated, only pay it, or wait for the Order for Recovery, at which stage you can submit a Statutory Declaration that you didn't receive the PCN. This will be sent to your previous address so if you want to go down this route, you MUST make sure your previous landlord keeps your mail and passes it on to you. You also need to check regularly with the council, (at least weekly) if the OfR has been issued so you can look out for it. |

However you need to make sure you don't miss the OfR, if you don't challenge it promptly you may lose your right to appeal. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

If you move address you need to tell them. The council only get the address form DVLA at the start of the process, if you move half-way through they don't get notified of the new address just because you told DVLA.

It doesn't matter if you do everything right and reading do everything wrong, if you miss the OfR it is messy FOR YOU. contact TEC ask has the PCN been registered, nothing more. keep doing so every week or so until it has been them if it does not come to you you can download the form and complete it.

my previous landlord has just told me that the postman did send the letter PCN back since he knows I do not live there anymore, is this possible? I doubt this very much unless the landlord physically handed it back to the postman and also saying you didn't live there anymore. The postman would have accepted it on a "not known at this address" basis. There may have been a return address on the envelope. |

I am really hoping they send me again my original PCN I'm afraid hope is not of much use when it comes to Reading Council, as they are one of the more venal and rapacious councils as threads on this forum have shown. Make sure you follow the process and don't ignore the Order for Recovery. |

No, just phone the TEC once a week to check if the debt has been registered.

You are involved in a statutory legal process. We know what needs be done to get you back to PCN stage. If you insist in going your own way, it might work, but experience tells us it wont and you end up out of time and bailiffs at your door
