Hi all,
I'm trying without success to find any reference to the limitations on traffic when it comes to bollards in the highway code or statute books. When a road is blocked by bollards, but there is no kerb or pavement at the blocked point or signage forbidding ingress of traffic is a motorcycle allowed to pass thought the bollards? Does the situation change if there are double yellow lines or a dropped kerb that need to be crossed? Thanks in advance, Monkeyboy |

Have you received a 'ticket' or just an enquiry?

Pretty sure if you can get between the bollards, there is no offence. It's just to stop larger vehicles.

I agree. There is no signage to prohibit anything from passing through the gaps between the bollards

A brief 2 minute stalk on GSV:
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@51.4077226,-...3312!8i6656 Since the others down that street don't have no entry signs, then I don't really see an issue. This post has been edited by typefish: Tue, 10 Oct 2017 - 14:31 |

If there's no "no entry" sign, nor any other sign conveying a prohibition, I don't see what you could be prosecuted for. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

Can't see an issue.
And judging by the cops alongside me a set of lights tonight, they probably wouldn't care anyway. Queue to turn right in opposite direction. Sound of one of those small bikes with annoying high revs and poor/no silencers coming from down the queue. Then bike turns across road, through a set of no entry signs into a one way service road, along it the wrong way, not speeding as such but not slow. Out of far end and disappears into the distance. Neatly, if illegally bypassing queue and lights. Cops in car alongside take not a blind bit of notice. |
