Had to go to the Barnet council offices at North London Business Park (NLBP) as I parked you are greeted with 3 different signs , all with differing information.
The blue (Secure a Space ) sign -1 goes on about Permits must be displayed at all times and mentions Barnet Staff , Barnet P&D (is that planning & Development or pay & display ? ) The the meter -2 says it's only for the White Bays only as it's for people coming to 'The Site' but dispenses a 'ticket' but the sign says Permits must be displayed ( the oxford dictionary states tickets & permits are 2 different things) so that's confusing. Then there is the White sign -3 with a meter underneath that states NLBP CAR PARK but states Blue Bays for essential users and ALL other staff to park in Yellow Bays . I was totally confused so parked and went into reception of the council offices and asked where Visitors should park , I was told in a white bay & pay by Phone. So that's what I did but the pay by Phone app states that the bay I parked in was for staff. When I returned to my car , I had a ticket for parking in bay without displaying a permit. but pay by Phone doesn't give you a permit/ticket. I contacted Secure a Space and explained the confusing signage and they replied it's perfectly clear and that as you enter the car park , it states it's private land & to park in marked bays only & to refer to notices on site . Then they say that the White sign -3 relates to an area of the car park not under their control , it's under the councils control !! They are saying that I should of parked in a yellow bay and used the meter under the White sign but then the White sign states Yellow Bays are for staff and that you can pay by Phone . It's a total mess up . So so confusing. They haven't actually lost anything as I did pay to park but they say that the council bit is cheaper than there bit , so I paid a discounted rate but parked in an expensive bit of the car park !! What do I do next ? As they say they can't do anything, it's up to me to appeal to popla . What's the best way of going about this? Can't upload the pics as it says files too big ? |
