Hi there, I have today received a Parking Charge Notice from Parking Eye on behalf of Aldi in Dartford. Apparently there is a 1hr 30mins stay time in this car park? I wasn't aware of this & didn't even know it was Aldi's car park - its actually a car park that also serves the Orchard Shopping centre (where I was this day) I am wondering if I have any grounds to appeal this parking charge notice & would appreciate any help you can give me please. I would like to point out It took me somewhat time to actually drive round & find a parking space initially.

I have attached the links of the parking charge below....

REMOVE those links....now!!!!! They contain identifying detail.

EDIT your post to avoid identifying the driver. Refer only to 'the driver.'

Where will this post be moved to? How will I find it & access it?

I have removed the links from my initial post - I did take out the name & address details - what more should I remove?

Thanks for the help

As it stands we have no other information to comment on.

How long was the stay? Does the ticket claim keeper liability?

Apparently there are 2 car parks - here.

I'm not sure if they have an 'Aldi contract' as I do not believe they have the rights to pursue at court.

We know naff all, essentially. You havent even said if they are claiming the keeper is liable, how long it took to get to you,e tc.
If you cant tell us anything useful, then all we can do is point you at the MSE Forum NEWBIES thread, post 1, which is about appealing. Blue appeal.
No idea what else to suggest.

Contact the Orchards Shopping Centre and Aldi, to complain.

This isn't urgent to appeal, so do the complaint first. Many PE charges are cancelled by complaints to retail park site managers. No template, write a complaint and attach copies of your Bank Statement or receipts showing you were shopping in the retail park and had no idea about the 1hr 30 limit that seems to have been the case in that part of the site.

Send the same complaint to Aldi (not by post - online).

You have till at least the 1st October to appeal to PE, 28 days. No rush, stop looking at the alarmist rubbish 'discount' bribe 14 days, it means nothing to you.

Unfortunately I do not have any receipts from shopping there that day, I do not live local to this shopping centre & had met my son there for lunch in a café located within the shopping centre & we had a walk around the shops, don't think I actually purchased anything? I can check my back account for this day though.

If I write letters of complaint, I am going to miss the deadline for the discounted payment aren't I? If I have to pay this money - I would of course rather pay the £40 instead of the £70 - but I'm not sure I have grounds to appeal? I am so stressed out that I may have to find £40-£70 that I don't have.

Forget totally about the discount!!!! The aim is to pay zero!!!!

Why did you come here??? Because you didn't feel the charge was payable. You're right.....it isn't.

Follow SRM's advice and get a few complaints off to Aldi and the retail park. You have until at least the end of the month before you need to engage with PE. Use that time productively. Read some other threads. Try to get a feel for the process so that you understand what we are trying to say.

It would be handy if you could post the back of the PCN so tat we can see it. There have been a variety of PE PCNs flying around recently.

Finally, there is a QR Code on the copy above. Try and erase that if you can. smile.gif

I said that to stop you saying this:

People get these cancelled easily when they complain well. Was your son not shopping at the site, does he not have a receipt or proof of patronage.

The words 'contact us' and the name of the firm or place you want to contact, is where I always start Googling. Head office of Aldi gets these complaints all the time.

Have you not read any other complaints written to retail parks and Aldi and other supermarkets about ParkingEye? Hundreds still going on this MSE thread:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=4766249

Other posters get these cancelled all the time and the way to complain ''well'' to a retailer/retail park is obvious. State your distress and that you and your family are minded never to visit there again, etc. Tons of examples on that thread over the years, the thread is still being updated, with the latest post (start at the end, 2017 posts) was only today. It was a poster telling the forum about a successful retail park complaint about Parking Eye!

Can someone advise me if this is ok to send to Aldi? I'm not the best at putting appeals together.....

I am writing to you to express the disappointment I am feeling in receipt of a £70 parking fine I have this week received from Parking Eye. I am the registered keeper of this vehicle and the sum of money that you / Parking Eye are demanding is somewhat disproportionate to the alleged breach of parking terms. The driver was clearly unaware of the time limits and I am a regular shopper in Aldi spending over £100.00 a month. I usually shop in one of my local 3 stores, Market Place, Collier Row or Marlborough Road and never had a problem with parking and never known of time limits on parking at these stores? Do they also have a 1hr 30min restriction on parking?
I would ask for this PCN to be cancelled to avoid losing the business of mine, my families & friends.

I have written this from the registered keepers perspective, if I have to provide proof of my regular shopping at Aldi, it will be from another bank account, in a name that's not the registered keepers? How do I stand on that?

I am struggling to know what to say / do to appeal, as I wasn't actually shopping in Aldi on this day - so have no back up of a receipt etc? I feel like maybe I should just pay the £40 and be done with it - but that's money I don't really have icon_cry.gif
