Hello, chatting to a friend recently, she mentioned that she'd been caught at 30 in a 20 zone and was going on a SAC. However, it wasn't the standard local one, it was a special SAC for 20 limit offenders which involved traveling to another city. Just curious - what is this? Are 20 limit offenses treated differently to exceeding other speed limits?
Thanks, Veglia |

Are 20 limit offences treated differently to exceeding other speed limits? Not in terms of prosecution. -------------------- |

Wonder if the 20 mph zones will be removed if they cause increased pollution Local councils are usually blind and deaf to any suggestion that a speed limit should ever be increased, but logically they should weigh up the number of road deaths against the number of deaths caused by respiratory disease and go with the decision that minimises deaths. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

Ridiculous speed humps should go. It's the stop/start that's the issue.

A more relevant figure would be the loss of years of expected life Premature deaths from pollution officially out-number road deaths by more than 10:1 (23 000+ v less than 2 000) I'm curious how it's defined because, if pollution affects everyone's health, most of us will have our lifespans shortened by at least a few days "Premature" deaths could therefore in theory be numbered in the *00 000s |

NSAC 20 - see here. Thanks for that link Jic. So it looks like there is a different course for 20 zones. However, would this still be offered if the standard SAC had been attended within last 3 years? |

Hello, I note that those caught in 20 zones get offered a special SAC, not the same as the National SAC. However, do the same rules apply, that you must not have attended a National SAC within last 3 years?
Thanks, |

Thanks, No. Whether or not you have already attended an NSAC is irrelevant as to your eligibility to attend an NSAC20. Each one has its own 3 year rule. (offence date to offence date). Not all areas offer the NSAC20 yet though. |
