1. The name of the Constabulary: GRAMPIAN
2. Date of the offence: 27/03/06
3. Date of the NIP: 24/04/06
4. Date you received the NIP:28/04/06
5. Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): A90 Aberdeen/Dundee Rd@A937
Laurencekirk/Marykirk jc, Stonehaven
6. Was the NIP addressed to you?: yes
7. Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery?: First
8. Are you the Registered Keeper of the vehicle concerned (is your name and address on the V5/V5C)? If not then what is your relationship with the vehicle?: No - Girlfriends car
9. How many current points do you have? : 6
10. Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons.: I was travelling from Peterhead to west yorkshire and must have been zapped, My girlfriend received the first NIP around 10/04/06 and returned indicating myself as the driver, I then received my NIP which i still have.

I live approx 420 Miles from the camera site.

Thinking unsigned is the way to go - Any Thoughts/Advice would be welcomed.

Check that out; it's important. 10th is O.K., the 11th is not (assuming that she is the RK, and the RK hasn't changed recently).

Shame really, you could have gained an extra month if she had been a little slower to reply!

Going unsigned has a considerable amount of success in Scotland. To say it (yet) again; no-one that we're aware of has ever been prosecuted under s.172 when submitting an unsigned form (which their agents fill out on their behalf).

correct, use your wife/girlfriend to fill in the nip. They then make a note/short letter detailing that they had filled the form out in your absence. Keep this note safe and will be very useful if you're summoned.

As yet, no-one's had to use it. For the reason why, read this case.
