Hi,
I've been staying at a friend's flat and I came back this afternoon to notice that there is a fresh cigarette burn mark on the car, where someone in the flats above us has been smoking and discarded the cigarette butt onto the vehicle. Obviously there's a sign that states that the management/land owner of the building in question is not liable but I don't particularly want to have a cigarette burn on the roof of my car - it is quite noticeable as it's a white car and as we all know, nicotine when burned leaves a yellow tinge. I will attempt to remove it later on (or look at getting a professional to do it) But, what would you folks do? Chase the folks upstairs, complain to the management company or just chalk it down to experience? This post has been edited by typefish: Sat, 6 Oct 2018 - 13:27 |

Without knowing who flicked the butt, not sure what you can do.
Are you serious thinking the management company could be liable? What about the builder? If he hadn't have installed a window it would never have happened... This post has been edited by peterguk: Sat, 6 Oct 2018 - 13:33 -------------------- |

Well, the management company angle was more out of anger, my friend's car had also been messed about with this weekend by some residents. I can narrow it down to four flats however - and I definitely saw one smoking last night This post has been edited by typefish: Sat, 6 Oct 2018 - 13:40 |

Im assuming this isn't a soft top so try Car Polish or T-Cut type stuff then get on with your life. I take it the car was in a car park area...could the fag end have been flicked from the street? Move on - not sure what you can do without evidence as to who caused the damage.
