Driver who made 837-mile trip from Land's End to John O'Groats in record time of nine hours ‘used false number plates and speed-trap detectors to evade police - then waited six months to claim the title to avoid speeding prosecution’

You would have thought that having accomplished his record, he might have got rid of all the incriminating evidence?

He may not understand the law that "dangerous driving" does not cover by 6 month time limit actually there is no time limit

Nor is perverting the course of justice.

As CP said, he had all that time to dispose of the evidence and failed!

I suppose that if you are stupid enough to try it and to publicly proclaim, presumably on Twitface or the like, you are stupid enough to keep it all set up.
Maybe he was going to try for another record?

Maybe he was intending to do the south bound trip later to establish a 2-way average ?

Did the same trip 10 years ago driving the support van for son and nine mates cycling the route for charity - what an experience, the banter was epic ! Took us six days !!!

The issue is, will he now update his blog and tell us how he fooled the jury?

It's interesting that the Mail article has still photos which appear to be from the Audi's dashcam. Presumably those were taken from the blog, and the police weren't able to get hold of the actual footage.

In a couple of previous cases of dangerous driving that have been mentioned on here, the convictions were based on footage posted on Youtube etc, so in this case there musn't have been evidence to show he did actually drive at the speeds he claimed in the blog.
