Hi Guys

Wonder if someone can help me.
I was stopped back on the 14th Dec 2006 doing 78 in a 50 by a nice friendly officer of the law sat on a parked motorbike with a laser gun.
He took all my details and gave me a producer. I took all the relevant paperwork to my local police station the next day!
Not heard a thing since! Have I got away with it? I've read that it has to be sorted within 6 months. Well its 7 and a half since I took my docs in.

Any help appreciated!
Pete

Please visit the READ ME FIRST section (Click Here), answer all the questions in the NIP Wizard, and then post the Wizard's output back here to enable us to help you.

Were you warned at the time that you would be "reported for consideration for prosecution for the offence of..." (or words to that effect - e.g. "you'll be getting a summons in the post")?

An information (application for a summons) must be laid with the court within 6 months of the alleged offence (England & Wales), although a summons can be served later, but they need a good reason for any considerable delay.

Hi Andy
Can't fill in the NIP wizard as I haven't had one! First question is have I had one. Answer No. huh.gif
I asked when I was stopped if I would just get a £60 fine and 3 points. He laughed and informed me that I'd be recieving a summons.

Given the length of time over the 6 month limit for laying a summons, it would probably be a good idea to ring the court to see if there is a summons for you. Where were you "caught"?

Kiss of death that!! The number of people who kept saying to me "you will be fine if youv'e not heard anything" I kept saying "they have 6 months tho, so I'm not getting my hopes up"

Then the the one time I said to someone I think I may have gotten away with it... BANG a summons was waiting on the doorstep rolleyes.gif

Even in Humberside, he'd be safe at four months.
