Hi Guys,
I realised I had driven in a bus lane around 2 weeks ago after doing it two days in a row in pollokshaws road in Glasgow. I follow the rules of the road but I found myself there for a couple of reasons. 1. I had never been there before and didn't know how long the bus lane lasted for. 2. The biggest reason....the solid line on the bus lane is very clear for about 20 metres or so then completely fades out and is completely invisible after this point when its dark which it was when I was driving, so having seen parking bays in that lane and no solid line I figured the bus lane had ended. I have high definition dashcam footage of this and it shows me avoiding the bus lane then moving into it after the solid line ends and you can see from the dashcam footage that the line is not visible on the road at all. Pollokshaws road I haven't received a fine yet however I know the inevitable is going to happen sooner or later and was wondering if it was worth an appeal giving the fact as you can see from google maps the road markings are inadequate. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers |

A search on here brings up no PCNs and I cannot find the street listed on Glasgow bus lane enforcement/cameras with a Google.
You may be okay. Obviously best to keep out even with the state of the markings and do keep the dashcam footage, just in case. If a PCN appears, get back to us, as Stamford says, them 'aving a laff. |

Nobody in Scotland is more ruthless, venal, and rapacious than Glasgow City Council.

No statutory 959 sign only a bit painted, this should be arguable post up the docs and get and post the video. If all is as GSV then you have a strong case

No PCN - this is worried well so far. As a wise old GP once told me, having ascertained I only had a sprained finger, "Give it a few days next time, son."

Thanks for the reply guys,
If I get a fine through ill post the docs with the personal details omitted. Am I right in thinking that they have 28 days to notify me to enforce any action? Also if you do a 180 there is a bus lane camera right next to a public cctv camera in the centre of the junction which makes me feel that i'm more or less in for it. Scottish Bus Lanes which I would need to look up but I think does not specify a 28 day limit for service.
But Glasgow are usually quick off the mark so if nothing in a couple of weeks, probably clear. |

Scottish Bus Lanes which I would need to look up but I think does not specify a 28 day limit for service. Regulation 8(2) specifies a 28 day limit, see The Bus Lane Contraventions (Charges, Adjudication and Enforcement) (Scotland) Regulations 2011 here: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ssi/2011/442/regulation/8/made -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

28 days have elapsed since I found myself in that bus lane and still no PCN
My details on DVLA haven't changed so does that mean i'm off the hook? The bus lane camera is right there and visible on GSV so I am so confused as to why I never got a fine. |

Maybe they know not to enforce due to the conditions of the markings. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

QUOTE The bus lane camera is right there and visible on GSV so I am so confused as to why I never got a fine. Camera not working that day?? Huge backlog??? IF, by chance, something does come then post it here before responding. Any possibility that the address on your V5 is not your current address? If you are still worried, you can always ring the Council and ask if there are any PCNs outstanding aganst your reg mark. |

My details at DVLA include my current address and the v5c is registered here too I got my road tax renewal reminder through in December which confirms that. Thing is I done it two days in a row and didn't catch on until the 3rd day so I was expecting 2 fines through. If anything does come now is it unenforceable since the 28 days have expired? |
