Apart from the lazy proof reading this looks like it's lifted directly from a PPC Press Release.

As most supermarket parking is controlled by ANPR, the whole article is somewhat irrelevant I'd suggest, note the number of supermarkets that basically replied 'meh'.
My wife used to use parent and toddler spots (when we had them) but due to the extra space we ended up with dents on the cars from people pushing trolleys through the gaps so went back to using regular spaces. Most of the 'contracts' are meaningless anyway, many just say 'parent and child', well I'm a parent and my 26 year old daughter is a child, come to think of it my septuagenarian Mum is a parent and I'm a child! The sign shown says 'young child' which is somewhat subjective to says he least I think, perhaps 'children in child seats'? QUOTE Sainsbury's: Parent and child parking bay misuse is handled by the store itself and fines would be issued by the car park operators. Breach of the CoP's right there, Sainsbury's will (should - from the same CoP) have signed to say they have read the CoP and to abide by it, including not misrepresenting the authority. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

There was a case on here a long time ago where the parking attendant decided the 'child' looked too old and issued a ticket. Morrisons used to have 'parent and toddler' spaces. Presumably if one had a younger (or slightly older) child and parked in one of the spaces they were violating the parking terms.
I looked up the definition of toddler, which was 'one who toddles'. |
