Dear Foum
1) A speeding ticket committed last May 2018. I Had lent my car out 2)I moved address to leeds before NIP arrived. Speed happened in Peterborough 3)Months down the line I noticed MS90 on my lisence and 811 fine 4)I put in stat dec at leeds maj and pleaded not guilty to both 5)Court referred to original court of Peterborough Maj for 19/02/19 I am not sure what to do when I arrive at court as I did not receive paper work. I changed address on lisence and V5C but no mail still did not go to right address. Car has been scrapped now. I have name of driver at the time. What should I do to proceed at court? Should I just say I was driving as my plea as if I find me guilty of MS90 then they will give me MS90? I was not driving at the time. Could I send in a letter with my pleas and circumstances around the incident to reopen case and could they deal in my absence? |

Well I finished this matter yesterday. Got to Peterborough court at 10:30. I was last on the list and didn't get seen till 5pm. Basically what happened the court was soo far behind schedule and was soo unorganised. There was someone before me I was sitting in court room he kept changing his story. One min he said he wasn't driving then one minute he was. The maj said if he ng he needs to come back for a trial.
When I was called up I pleaded guilty to speeding and ng to failing to notify. They gave me 4point and 195 fine. I was doing 42 in a 30mph.result. I'm the end. I've learned from. My mistake always fill out the form even if you weren't driving. If you have moved address always check with that jurisdiction if any speeding tickets to the reg. I am not falling victim to this again |

Well done, sounds like they were very open to this and damaged reasonably minimised.

It was fortunate you remembered you were driving...
