I've received a NOI for doing 80 on the M1.
It says its for a variable speed limit offence only. On the pictures of the evidence you can clearly see the signs aren't displaying a speed limit. Is there anything I can do? Thanks |

Nope, photo of something like mine (colour and model) is my avatar (don't judge, limited Co car availability a year ago!), I can adjust the adaptive limiter in 1mph increments either side of what it thinks the limit is (95% accurate) by up to 5mph, or I can switch to CC. To change from adaptive limiter to manual is about 6 button presses through a menu and not worth doing for the odd stretch of road* where it gets confused so I CBA.
*I know most the specific bits of road near me and just switch it off, the more annoying one is when the it's used the camera to detect a lower limit and then, despite the next sign being 100m away decides to revert to the database limit due to not seeing a sign for too long! -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

Yes, mine gets confused on a 40mph road near me where a side road goes off at an angle, so that the 30mph sign applicable is pretty well facing the car. sometimes it picks it up, sometimes it does not.
