Hi again,

Euro Parking Collection are still on my case for tolls issued in Portugal when I was in the UK. They have a picture of my car, apart from the plate its not my car. Advice then was ignore, which I did for about the first 10 letters, I then emailed them with proof I was in the UK, I had an MOT the day before one of the fines were issued, for it to be me I'd have had to travelled 2000 miles, non stop to hit the toll 24 hours later. Info ignored and more letters sent. Question is what can I do, its really starting to wind me up. Are fines issued in the EU now not enforcable in the UK?

Thanks

Can you please clarify? Are you saying that you weren't there as they claim, but they have a picture of a car with your number plate, and therefore have inferred that it's you?

Bottom line, if so, will be that they need to prove that it's you and - if it's not - then you've done what's required by telling them otherwise.

But others may have a better comment if you can clarify what you're saying.

But let me put it this way: if Euro Parking Collection sent me a claim for an unpaid toll from Portugal for my car and I hadn't been there, I'd write to tell them and then forget about it. Stop worrying! Their problem, their mistake. But please give us a little more information!

Not sure what this has relevance to private parking cases in the UK!

Yes I wasn't there, a letter came out of the blue, I asked advice on here and was to ignore, which I did but after a while I contacted them with more info and proof I was in the UK. The reason I mentioned it on here is because its a parking collection company and I'm in the UK. Thanks

Why would they stop chasing you?

They won't. So not ignoring them probably re-invigorated them.

They can't and won't do anything so ignore (but file).

I've asked a mod' to merge this with the original thread for you in conformance with Rule #1.
