Hi all,
I received a parking charge notice from Premier Parking Solutions. From the advice I can see here it would seem my best bet is to just completely ignore the ticket, however, I couldn't find a case that matched completely. The vehicle was parked in a private car park under a block of apartments. Whilst there are always lots of empty spaces in the day time when I returned my space had a car in it. We parked to the side of it which was not in an allocated bay, but the vehicle was not blocking the road in or out or any vehicle that needed to move around. I came back to my car 3 hours later and I had a ticket on it. We have a permit for the carpark which was displayed! - parking charge is £100 - OUTRAGEOUS!!! Reasoning is listed as "Not parked in allocated bay". Every day people park in the same place as our vehicle did on this occasion and other areas where you can park and could class as "an overflow" but are not official bays. The parking inspectors don't have key flobs to get into our carpark (weirdly) so they depend on a car coming in or out to get in but surely giving me this is beyond ridiculous given I have a permit? Permits are NOT for a specific bay but just for the car park as a whole and bays are not marked for a certain vehicle so in theory I could park in any official bay (If by bay it means a space with white lines around it) and not get a ticket (although the bay owner would be annoyed!). Any advice? Its the normal stuff of £60 if paid within 14 days, appeals, complaints, registered keeper details and data processing all listed on the ticket. Other thing to note is clearly the printer the person used had an ink issue as there is a white mark running the length of the ticket that makes certain thinks illegible. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks. This post has been edited by Oxfordshirelad: Thu, 10 Jan 2019 - 17:19 |

The next to last sentence in the bottom line of your post. Thanks - I believe I have made the change you are referring to. So can you tell me do I reply at all now or just ignore? I am confused! But not the others I was referring to. You can still be identified |

Obviously you give your name and address, as keeper of the car.

Hi all,
I received this message upholding their internal decision but saying I can appeal to the IAS. I take it I should go ahead and do that? Should I wait till the end of the 21 days or just go ahead and do it ASAP? Additionally anyone have any view on the fact I am not in a bay but do have a permit? Their signage is terrible you can see in the pictures where they have the signs so whilst you can see them I could actually come up and park my car without driving past or walking past 1 of the signs especially with cars in spaces. Upon entering the carpark or as you turn and enter underneath the flats there is no sign present, just the ones they have hidden inside the carpark. Thanks. |

theres so much advice and acronyms i dont understand as well its hard to know what to follow - I might just pay the £60 its easier
infact what i just read about IAS makes me think they will side with Premier Parking Solutions so I may as well pay the £60 - thats kind of what I am really asking should I appeal or should I just pay the fine |

Its easier, but it means youre funding them chasing people who CANT PAY them, or can do but then go without food or heating.
Easier doesnt mean it is right WE can help you. BUt you cant just take th easy way out each time. It needs a bit of work on your side Why do you presume the options are pay or appeal? Literally every thread says NOT TO APPEAL but they also say to NOT PAY Ignore debt collectors Dont ignore a court claim form or a letter before court. |

The advice is not to appeal to the IAS. However it's also not to pay either.
The advice is to ignore all subsequent debt collector threatening letters unless you receive either a Court Claim or a Letter Before Action/Claim at which point you come back here for guidance. -------------------- Sometimes I use big words I don't understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

I am really sorry I have personal circumstances which I won't go into which have made it extremely difficult to spend time on this. You are right I was hoping to take the easy way out. Previously when I have used this forum I have been able to do leg-work. Apologies but appreciate your help here I will not appeal via IAS and I will ignore any debt collectors letters. If a court claim / letter comes I will come back here. Thank you for taking the time to help me. The advice is not to appeal to the IAS. However it's also not to pay either. Thank you so much for your help and advice. I will do exactly this! |
