I've seen a lot of videos of bad driving over the years but these vehicles speeding and deliberately crashing into each other on a road with other traffic seems unbelievable:

The real issue in this country is sentencing policy. If they got locked up for 15 years (with none of this early release nonsense), they probably wouldn't do it again. As it is even if they catch them, I doubt they'd do more than a few months, if anything at all.

It used to be called "corporal punishment" and was abolished. Time to bring it back. To ease the liberal croakers sensitivities, we could call it "aversion therapy". I would think if they got 30 strokes of the birch every time they get caught, the message would get through quite quickly. Much better than us taxpayers having to keep them fed and watered in prison.

I totally agree but it's been this hard getting out of the EU, can you imagine what a fuss the lefties would make if we said we want to leave the ECHR?

There isn't much evidence that corporal punishment was a deterrent, even to those actually birched.

To take one (perhaps extreme) example, "Mad" Frankie Fraser was birched as a youth. The taxpayer later had to keep him fed and watered in jail for 42 years.

At the other end of the scale, we still had CP when I was in school. I don''t recall much of a deterrent effect.

I know of at least one homeless chap who would habitually steal batteries on a Friday night and then tell the local cop so that he could get bed and board at the police station till Monday. I also read the sentence for shoplifting from the 1700s in a museum in Kent and it was something along the lines of "she be whipped till her back be bloody", I suspect that sort of treatment would see a significant reduction in petty crime. Problem is society has got too soft.

At least it's sparked a bit of banter.

Electrified the debate you mean, the atmosphere is now charged, for the neutrals it soon get exciting and there is no current consensus on which side will meet most resistance. The debate will brook no impedance.

To get it back on topic you'll need to do the Hard Cell.
