Hi there
I recently received this pcn from tfl. I went to the site and checked the signs. There is a sign that says red route no stopping 7am to 7pm right on double red line but i was parked on single red. you can not see that sign when you enter walford road from high road. I would appreciate if you could tell me it can be challenged. Gsv link is HW4G+84 Stoke Newington, London The car is a hire car. |

Sign being turned is valid if you stopped, checked sign and left.
Not so much if you parked and went for a cuppa. Minicab, Don't suppose you were working, displaying licence and picking up or dropping off passenger ? |

Here:
https://www.google.com/maps/@51.5558091,-0....3312!8i6656 Where are we with this - does red route have controlled zone status so no sign needed for single red? EDIT there is a sign but facing away from line and on double red so not ideally placed: https://www.google.com/maps/@51.5558259,-0....3312!8i6656 This post has been edited by stamfordman: Sun, 12 Aug 2018 - 14:42 |

Hate to be a sourpuss but sign is not turned, it is facing direction of traffic for the single line.
As it should be. At far end but close enough that (IMO) an adjudicator would not damn it. That you came at it from the other direction is a possible excuse for stopping but not for parking as the normal expectation is that motorists check restrictions when they park. Can we see the rest of the PCN please, there have been some wording issues with TFL ones. No dancingdad i wasn't working at the time. I parked and went to pick up take away and ate it in the car. Ah well, CCTV would/should have caught alighting anyway but was hoping. |

On the face of it, the PCN is out of time and would provide legitimate grounds for reps, reg 10(4) refers.
https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2007/34...ulation/10/made Yes it’s probable that the vehicle is hired/leased by the OP and the original PCN was sent to the registered keeper who then made successful reps to transfer liability to the OP, reg 10(6)(b) refers. But this is speculation, the authority still need to prove that this PCN was served in time. |

OP---- thanks for the photo. Doesn't help much.
The reason I asked is that TfL uses a company (called Liberty?) to issue its PCNs and that company has a history of not posting PCNs on the date of issue---ergo a very exploitable ground. Mick |
