Hi All,
My friend borrowed my car last week, and obtained a ticket on a Smart Independent Parking (SIP) managed car park.
The ticket was not adhesive, and had blown upside down when she shut the door. She'd paid the appropriate amount.
Can anybody on here advise of an appeal letter template under the circumstances?
I am the registered keeper, though I was not driving the car that day.
Thanks!

What's the full and exact name including any Ltd of the company ?
Which trade association - BPA or IPC ?

There's a company called Smart Parking Ltd, a member of the BPA, that's very tame and whose paperwork doesn't meet the conditions to recover payment from the registered keeper

There's another company called SIP Parking Ltd, a member of the IPC that trades under a number of names, often based on its initials, that's a bit more persistent

As PCN on the car it is almost certainly not smart but SIP. (Smart intelligent parking - hmmm)

One strategy would be to appeal as the keeper before they access the DVLA- they have to wait 28 days.

They could mess up ‘keeper liability’ which is useful when the keeper wasn’t driving...

SIP do issue court claims, smart do not...

Well an obvious appeal would be that he driver had paid for a ticket, but was upside down due to the wind blowing the ticket over. If the ticket had been fit frmirpose this would not have happened, so please cancel th sticker

They'll reject anyway, but this way they will likely not apply for keeper details. Just make it clear 100% you are keeper. Don't worry if the form tries to trick you just make it clear you are the keeper and we're not the driver
