I always love fines to government agencies, councils or whatevers.
The papers make it out like it's a big deal. That'll teach them! Except of course, it won't. As this organisations can neither be allowed to fail, nor derive any revenue except from the (local) taxpayer. So to fill the hole in the budget, the council tax will need to be raised or the services reduced. In my opinion, wrong doing by councils should hit the people involved personally. The Chief Exec? Sacked, bonus withdrawn or just forced to hand over some cash. Likewise those involved. There is NO incentive not to break the law for government agencies. There are no real consequences. |

Think of the double irony that many of those who's details were not kept secure probably live in and pay the council tax, so will be paying the council for exposing their own data to risk.....
Not like with circa £30M in PCN revenue in that time it didn't have the money to fix it! This post has been edited by The Rookie: Fri, 25 Aug 2017 - 08:22 -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

QUOTE The council added that it had taken advantage of the reduced fine offered by the ICO for early payment, which cut the costs to £56,000. Very apt for a parking dept transgression |
