Hi all
My brother got a pcn through the post for allegedly doing a no right turn on Mile End road. He cannot recall the incident as there is adequate (I think) signage there so doesn’t think would’ve missed it. I cannot see any information for viewing the video of the incident. However under images online there is a third image that shows him allegedly turning right. I’ve attached a link for them in this post. Is there any chance of him getting out of it? Signage is OK although posted beyond cycle lanes.
You can ask for video which may show a sign obscured by a bus or truck. https://www.google.com/maps/@51.5225705,-0....8i8192?hl=en-GB |

Call TFL and ask for the video, they will send you a DVD and put the case on hold while you wait.

Too late for the OP but I am posting this one for any subsequent searchers:-
2190246963 The Appellant’s case is that the signage indicating that a right turn was prohibited was unclear or inadequate. The issue having been raised the onus is on the enforcement authority to prove its signage was clear and correct. TfL relies on the presence of a single sign shown in the CCTV; and this is indeed unobscured. However mounted beneath it is a plate the legend on which cannot be made out. The TMO contains no exemptions for any type of vehicle which could be shown on such a plate and I am therefore unable to be satisfied that this sign taken with its associated plate correctly reflects the prohibition in the TMO. The Appeals are therefore allowed for this reason. (I would only add that a visit to the location on Streetview appears to show the presence of a second sign on the opposite side of the carriageway by some trees, and it might well be the case that this is the obscured sign referred to by the Appellant. As the Appeal falls to be allowed in any event it is unnecessary to adjourn the case as I might otherwise have done for further evidence on this point. However if there are in fact two signs at the junction, implying that two are considered necessary, TfL might care to check that both are visible – and compliant with the TMO). Mick |
