Hi all - I received yesterday a PCN demand from Lewisham. Unfortunately it wasn't my car that received this parking ticket. There are no photos on the PCN form, nor link to see photographic evidence. I have a picture of my kids washing the car 50 mins earlier about 15 miles away on the other side of London.

Appreciate any suggestions on best approach to minimize pain here.

Thanks
Steve

The first thing I'd do is get hold of the photos from the council. If the photos show a different make, colour or model of car then it should be east to get it cancelled.

Suggest you call NSL on Tuesday and ask for pics - probably your VRM recorded by mistake or less likely, a clone.

If you are struggling with getting pictures out of them, do not miss deadline to challenge.

Grounds that you were not the owner of the vehicle in question.
Clear statement that although the reg number refers to your car, the car was not there, never has been and was being washed by the kids immediately before..... if the photo has GPS, time and date references attached (right click and properties should show on a PC) include a copy of that as well.

Please could someone check and agree that these are the relevant dates:

Date of notice: 24/5/18
Date of service: 29/5/18 (date of notice + 2 working days)
Final date for paying/submitting challenge: 25/6/18 (date of service (inclusive) + 28 days)

Yes.
But don't play brinkmanship on dates...give plenty of time and get proof of when challenge made.
Email receipt or proof of postage (not recorded delivery)

No, this was intentional. I sent OP here for advice. I wanted to make it clear to OP that there was no rush to challenge, and to make sure OP posts up details and gets correct advice to deal with this.

Thanks all for your help. I talked to them this morning, and they advised you can see evidence photos on the step before paying the PCN charge. The photos showed a car very similar to mine, but was an estate, broken wing mirror and different hub caps. So looks like a clone. I've logged a police report and emailed Lewisham that my car was a hatchback, and also a photo with geotagging showing my car on the other side of London an hour before and some photos of my car. Hopefully this puts this issue to bed. Note: My car was for sale at the time so i'm hoping there aren't more of these out there!

Thanks all.

Good
Clear differences that should make it a slam dunk.
Just to be clear?
When you say you have emailed, does this mean that you have submitted a formal challenge as per procedures on the Notice to Owner?

If not, then you should follow those instructions and re-submit. Others might comment, and specifically I wonder what additional evidence you need to provide that your car is not the one in the CEO's photographs - surely just sending a photo that is different will not be sufficient (anyone could do that). Does a V5C state hatchback vs. Estate?

Here's a starter that you can modify as you wish.

QUOTE
/Name and postal address/

Dear Lewisham Parking Bods,

Formal Representations against PCN xxxxx VRN xxxxx.

I was never the owner of the vehicle in question.

Whist the vehicle in the CEO's photographs has the same VRN as my vehicle, the vehicle in the CEO's photographs is an Estate car and mine is a hatchback. I enclose photographs of my car so that you can see the difference.

I believe that the vehicle in question has cloned the licence plates from my vehicle, and I have reported it to the Police and it has Crime reference number xxxxx.

I look forward to hearing from you that this PCN has been cancelled.

Yours etc,
/Registered Keeper/
