Just spotted this in a templated paragraph from Folkestone & Hythe District Council and it made me smile, they've obviously had their fair share of FMOL/sovereign citizens:

I would like to advise that parking contraventions were decriminalised in the
year 2000. Therefore, Shepway District Council do not pursue the recovery of
parking contraventions through the court of law.
Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) are issued under the Traffic Management Act
2004, s82; Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General
Regulations 2007.
I note your comments that you do not understand demands made upon you
and the documentation sent to you. I would like to advise that the Notice to
Owner document sent to you is an official document issued under the Traffic
Management Act 2004. Therefore, if you do not understand the
documentation I advise you to seek advice from either CAB or a firm of
solicitors.
I will now in turn respond to your questions 1 - 9.

1. The Dictionary definition of a 'person' is a 'human being and 'human
being' is defined as a 'person'.
2. A 'person' is defined in many Acts of Parliament and is not relevant to
the specific Act, the Traffic Management Act 2004 has not found the need to
define 'person'.
3. I refer to the above answers.
4. Legal is something authorised by legislation and 'lawful' is undertaking a
'legal' task.
5. The Traffic Management Act 2004 dictates that the registered keeper of
the vehicle is liable for the PCN. Therefore all correspondence has to be
addressed to the registered keeper as provided from the DVLA or
hirer/purchaser of that vehicle from the previously registered keeper.
6. The charge was the result of a parking contravention occurring.
7. Question not understood please elaborate on the information required,
8. The DVLA have identified ******* as the registered keeper of the vehicle
who have in turn identified you as the buyer of the vehicle on ********
9. Unless an alien or deity you would, I suspect, be a member of the
Society of Humans.

If you wish to further appeal against the penalty please refer to my previous
letter and complete the appeal formal enclosed therewith. I will not enter into
any further correspondence with you prior to this action

At least they have a sense of humour.

At least they have a sense of humour.

IMO they've given the idiot far more time than was merited, so I assume it was largely (and understandably) for their own entertainment. Some of their definitions are a bit suspect, though.

But surely it all falls down when they cite a 2004 Act of Parliament and "many [other] Acts of Parliament". Because, as we know, there is ONLY the Magna Carta, or possibly the Bill of Rights, and no other action by Parliament since has any validity at all (in their eyes).

You're forgetting that the supreme source of all law is an old edition of Black's Law Dictionary wink.gif
